Injured
In the animal agriculture industry injured or sick animals are not required to have veterinarian care so, in more cases than not, they do not receive help or relief. In most cases sickness or injury is an instant death sentence for farmed animals.
Packed tightly into metal transport trucks, animals often slip on the cold, wet floor and are unable to right themselves. Other cows, some weighing 1,000+ lbs, unintentionally step on or fall into the injured animal, sometimes fatally injuring him/her. If the injured animal survives the trip, he/she will be dragged onto the kill floor with the others.
