Dairy Victims - Calves

Veal is directly linked to the dairy industry. In order to keep a mother cow producing breast milk she, like us, must give birth. Because the dairy industry does not want her baby calf to take the milk that they intend to sell to us, the calf is taken from his/her mother shortly after birth. These calves will be a) killed on the farm or b) sent to auction to be sold to veal farmers or c) some females will be kept on the farm but confined in isolation, tied to a hut and fed powered milk until she is old enough to replace her mother.

We often witness transport trucks filled with young calves arriving at the Halal slaughterhouse.
